Make the Summer of 2022 Fun and Exciting!
Summer is upon us and with it comes summer vacation! While most of us would love to spend this time to make up for lost sleep or to catch up with the latest shows, this can be monotonous after a point. Plus, summer is the best way to jazz up your CV, add to your resume and gain new skills, all which become plus points when applying to universities for further studies.
Summer 2022 can be made memorable in several ways. Here are some of them!
Organise a Weekly Movie/ Book Club: One of the best ways to meet new people who share your interests is to set up a Film/Book Club that meets regularly to discuss cult favourites, niche forms of media and new releases. You never know, you might find a new movie-partner or book buddy! Our suggestion? Create an online group to connect with movie and book lovers from across the globe.
Share Your Skills: Everyone has a skill set that they have honed over the years, and so do you! Find a community that wants to learn what you have to offer and share your skills with them.
This won’t take up too much time and you would get to experience what it’s like to be on the other side of the desk. Don’t forget- a teacher never stops learning and you might find new perspectives on these skills for yourself!
Beat the Heat: With summer comes heat and humidity, and there are always fun and unique ways to cope with the high temperatures. Freeze fruits into ice cubes and you have delicious frozen treats to indulge yourself! Get together with friends and family, and have a water balloon fight! Bonding is ensured to happen while you get to stay cool and refreshed.
Volunteer/Intern: Nothing makes your summer break more fulfilling than choosing to share your time and skills to aid those in need. Keep a look-out for organisations who are open to volunteering and internships. Not only would these opportunities help you identify future career opportunities, you also get the chance to add to your resume, something that is essential if you wish to study further. Above all, you get to contribute to society! Bonus is to volunteer with a friend. You get to bond over new experiences, only further cementing your friendship! There are several organisations that you can apply to so keep your eyes and ears open.

Food and Fun: Set up weekly lemonade stands and bake sales! This is an excellent way to indulge your inner chef, let your creative juices flow and make some extra money. Use the profits to make even more delicacies or treat yourself and your friends to an outing.
Broaden your Horizons: Summer is incomplete without some travel. Depending on time, budget and interests, you can make a day trip to a town close by, or book a round trip to a foreign country! Remember to keep an eye out for travel restrictions and regulations.
Take a Detox: Summer is the time for evolution, so make a decision to do something you’ve always wanted to, but never had the time.
Deactivate your social media accounts, try a new form of exercise, choose to alter your routine, go out of your way to experience something new.
